New Musical Express magazine (later NME) was founded by Theodore Ingham in 1952 first issue was 7th March 1952  NME was the first British newspaper to include a singles chart, adding that feature in the 14th November 1952 edition.  In the 1970s, it became the best-selling British music newspaper
